On the reverse of this painting, in the artist's hand, is written: "No. 3390-10x15-$500.00, near Palo Alto, Cal. Painted Jan. 7-1926, J.E. Stuart". Works held: Oakland Museum, LACMA, White House, Washington, DC, Crocker Museum, Sacramento, de Young Museum, Bancroft Library, UC Berkeley, Southwest Museum, Montana Historical Society, Washington State Historical Society, Witt Art Library, London, Kalamazoo Michigan State Library and the Oregon Historical Society.
