Arts and Crafts Vintage Mica Table Lamp with Dragon Base. Lillian Palmer Style

Unusual Arts and Crafts period lamp with a dragon wrapping around the base under an eight paneled mica shade, recently found in a Bay Area estate. While many would attribute most vintage lamps with mica shades on bases from the Far East to the Lillian Palmer Shop, including this one, it is not, in my opinion, always accurate to do so. While Lillian Palmer produced many shades on bases from the Far East, along with making her own bases, it is highly likely that she was not exclusive. Since the quality of lamps from the Palmer Shop vary in quality from under-inspired to exquisite, I prefer to view each lamp on it's own merit. The shade on this lamp is actually more detailed and better constructed than some shades I have seen that were more likely from the Palmer Shop. The mica is vintage and in excellent condition, the light sockets are also vintage. The lamp has not been thoroughly dusted or waxed yet. This lamp, looks as good when the bulbs are off as when it is lit, it is a very pleasing and interesting lamp and would put warmth in any room.
