Plein Air Landscape Painting by Listed California Artist Leonard Borman, Sierra Madre. Plein Air landscape oil painting on canvas by the listed California artist Leonard Borman, signed lower right corner: "Leonard Borman". Leonard Borman was a Canadian war veteran who studied art at the AIC and also under Pennell and Bellows. He is know to have arrived in Sierra Madre around 1924, about the time this painting was executed. He is listed in Hughe's publication "Artists in California, 1786-1940 vol. II and in Moure's "California Art". The painting is in excellent condition with no visible damage or repairs. The frame measures: 35 1/2" by 25 1/4", the inside image measures 28 1/2" by 19 1/2".
