Villeroy & Boch 18" Mettlach, Geo Geesch #2645 glazed polychrome stoneware hanging charger featuring a pair of Golden Eagles. 1898–1901. Excellent condition, very minor slight wear to edge of 24K gold gilt border, mentioned for accuracy. No chips, cracks or repairs. Signed with the firms shop mark impressed "castle" above the word "METTLACH" above the "VB" for Valleroy & Boch, & "GEO.GESCH."(abbreviation for "Gesetzlich Geschutzt", meaning "legally protected") and below that, model #2644.
